Our Founding Story
Mu Sigma Lambda was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to create a community of professionals dedicated to excellence in the sports industry. Our founders recognized the need for an organization that would bridge the gap between education and career success in sports.
What began as a small group of passionate individuals has grown into a national organization with chapters across the country. Our commitment to professional development, networking, and community has remained unwavering since day one.
Today, our alumni work in every corner of the sports industry—from professional leagues and collegiate athletics to sports media and marketing agencies.

Inception
What began as a sports management club at UMass grew into the idea for a national professional fraternity.
National Office Creation
Founders partnered with UNC graduates to launch the official Mu Sigma Lambda national office.
Alpha Chapter Launch
The Alpha Chapter officially launched at UNC Chapel Hill with 44 members.
National Expansion Continues
Grown to 21 collegiate chapters across 16 states and over 600 active members.
